Praelex Writers

Contributors

The writers behind Praelex Men.

A Praelex Men writer is not an SEO producer. They are a person with a point of view, a willingness to research, and something worth saying. We keep our team deliberately small.

AO

01 — LEAD Editor & BRAND DESIGNER

Ademola Okafor

Style Culture

TB

02 — Senior Writer,COO & ANALYST

Tunde Bakare

Career Business

JE

03 — Grooming Writer & Social media manager

Jeremiah Eze

Grooming Fragrance

Writes about skincare, hair, shaving and scent — testing most of what he recommends himself. Approaches grooming as practical self-care, not as a consumer exercise.

CD

04 — Culture Writer, CFO & Lead strategist.

Chidiebere Daniel

Culture Personal Development

Explores masculinity, identity and the questions men are actually asking — without arriving with predetermined answers. Believes good questions matter more than comfortable ones.

05 — What We Look For When we add a writer

Four strong writers are worth more than fifty generic ones.

I

Curiosity

A writer who asks why, who reads past the first page of results, who gets curious about how things actually work.

II

Judgement

Capable of forming an informed opinion — and of distinguishing between fact, opinion and experience.

III

Voice

A recognisable personality in the writing. Readers should eventually know your work before they reach the byline.

IV

Willingness to work

Some pieces require visiting, testing, speaking to people, or reading primary sources. We expect writers to do that work.

Open Call

We are always reading.

If you write — or if you think you might — and you care about the subjects we cover, we want to hear from you. We are especially interested in writers who understand the realities of African men and can bring that perspective to a global conversation.

You do not need to be a professional journalist. What matters more is curiosity, honesty, research ability, observation, and independent judgement.
